NASA's Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) instrument on NASA's Aqua spacecraft captured this infrared image of Hurricane Sandy, another weather front to the west and cold air coming down from Canada at 2:17 p.m. EDT Oct. 29.

Division of Wildlife officials in Vernal are asking for help from the public in solving two separate poaching cases earlier this month.
DWR Conservation Officer Bryan Clyde said the first elk was shot and killed around October 4 on Dyer Mountain. The 6x6 bull elk carcass was left to completely waste. The only hunts going on in the area at the time where the muzzle loader deer and antlerless cow elk hunts.
