TOPIC: Financial Planning for Women (6-8) The Family Life Center will hold a Financial Planning for Women workshop Wednesday, June 8th. The focus will be on teaching kids about money. Workshops will be taught from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Family Life Room 318 on the USU campus and later that evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at the Family Life Center in Logan. Programs are free and registration is not required. TOPIC: Alliance for the Varied Arts (6-18) The Alliance for the Varied Arts Gallery will feature an exhibit by renowned photographer Alan Huestis. The exhibition will be on display through June 18th. The gallery is located in the Thatcher Young Mansion at 35 West 100 South in Logan. TOPIC: Stokes Nature Center "Seeking Our Roots" Program (6-9) The Stokes Nature Center in Logan Canyon will host a program entitled "Seeking Our Roots- Plant Lore of Logan" Thursday, June 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The program is designed for ages 16 and up; however, all ages are welcome. TOPIC: The Heritage Community Theatre presents "Dames At Sea" (6-25) The Heritage Community Theatre presents the musical "Dames At Sea" running through June 25th. TOPIC: Noon Music at the Tabernacle 2005 Season (6-30) The Concert and Lecture Series presents Noon Music at the Tabernacle's 2005 Season. Concerts will be held Monday through Saturday at noon at the Logan Tabernacle and will feature Cache Valley talent. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. TOPIC: University of Idaho Franklin County Extension (6-8) The University of Idaho Franklin County Extension will sponsor a pressure gauge testing clinic Wednesday, June 8th from 10:00 to noon and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Lids can be brought to the Franklin County Extension Office located at 561 West Oneida in Preston. TOPIC: Tuacahn Amphitheatre (6-8) Tuacahn Amphitheatre presents Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". The productions will run June 8th through October 15th. For tickets and performance times go on line at tuacahn.org. The amphitheatre is located in Ivins near Saint George. TOPIC: Utah State Art Department (6-8) Utah State University's Art Department will host a ten week pottery class beginning June 8th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The course is open to all ages and all levels. TOPIC: Financial Planning Association of Utah (6-9) The Financial Planning Association of Utah is holding a day-long Symposium Thursday, June 9th at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. TOPIC: Common Ground Outdoor Adventures (6-10) Common Ground Outdoor Adventure's 5th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament will be held Friday, June 10th at 8:30 a.m. at Birch Creek Golf Course. The fund raiser will give youth and adults with disabilities in Cache Valley the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities. To sign-up call 435-713-0288. TOPIC: The Salt Lake Astronomical Society (6-10) The Salt Lake Astronomical Society will host two free public star parties Friday, June 10th and Saturday, the 11th from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. The star party on the 10th will be held in the parking lot of the Harmon's Grocery Store in Salt Lake City. The party on the 11th will be at Harmon's Observatory in the Stansbury Park Observatory complex west of Salt Lake City. TOPIC: USU Cache County Aggie Chapter (6-10) The Utah State University Cache County Aggie Chapter is holding its annual golf tournament Friday, June 10th. TOPIC: Eccles Ice Center Hockey 101 (6-11) The Eccles Ice Center in North Logan is offering Hockey 101 for ages six and up beginning June 11th and running through July 2nd. TOPIC: Salt Lake City Arts Council (6-13) Applications for Salt Lake City Arts Council grants are now available for individuals and non-profit organizations in Salt Lake City. TOPIC: Meadowlark Performing at the Tanner Amphitheatre (6-11) The music ensemble "Meadowlark" will perform Saturday, June 11th at 8:00 p.m. at the Tanner Amphitheatre in Springdale near Zion National Park. The concert will feature a blend of Celtic, African, Mediterranean, and contemporary music. Tickets are available at various locations in the Saint George area or at the gate the night of the performance. TOPIC: Bridgerland Audubon Society (6-11) The Bridgerland Audubon Society will host a trip birding in the high country in Logan Canyon Saturday, June 11th. The group will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the parking lot between Café Ibis and the Logan Fire Station and return by mid afternoon. For more information contact Dick Hurren at 435-734-2653. TOPIC: Entrada Institute (6-11) The Entrada Institute will feature a presentation by Jeff Rice entitled "Sounds of Nature" Saturday, June 11th at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place at Robber's Roost Bookstore on Main Street in Torrey and is free and open to the public. TOPIC: Division of Wildlife Resources (6-11) The Division of Wildlife Resources is sponsoring two "Women's-Only Shooting Clinics". A skeet clinic will be held Saturday, June 11th at 9:00 a.m. at the Provo Gun Club and a beginning shot gun clinic will take place June 18th at 9:00 a.m. at the Heber Valley Gun Club.
